Home of the 898th Marine Strike Group (MSG)
The USS White Sands proudly hosts the 898th MSG, whose primary Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) are Combined Arms-Medical and Aerospace. Originally attached to the previous Albuquerque Chapter, the MSG was reactivated on board the USS White Sands on February 22, 2022, under the command of OIC BDR Mike Dethlefs.
Mission of the 898th MSG
The 898th MSG is tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Following the orders of the Commanding Officer, Forces Command, STARFLEET Marine Corps, our mission may include serving as an onboard security force, setting up and defending field hospitals, deploying fighters in support of other units, or conducting assault landings, depending on the situation. Organized into two sections (Medical and Aerospace), the 898th MSG welcomes additional detachments from other Branches of Service to meet the desires of the Marines on board.
Engage with us as we journey through the cosmos, forging friendships, and celebrating the shared spirit of Star Trek. We look forward to welcoming you aboard the USS White Sands!
